It was comforting to read this post. I beat myself up all the time, always judging my success based on how other people think or act in similar situations. This was indeed an eye opener. Although I do see how my work helps the team or its overall mission, it is somehow not enough. It is a great suggestion to try and keep my focus on contributing more effectively to the goals.

Dr. Sharon Melnick,

Hello. I have said it before and say it again, sunbscribing to you was one of the best things I have done in the recent past. Your visionary insights have contributed to the new phase of both my personal and career life. I have worked as a journalist (writer) for seven years and have hit some high highs and very low lows. But professionals such as yourself dedicated to helping those like myself who at times flounder and lose track, are a true GODsend. I will find a way to contribute tangibly so that you may continue helping others like myself achieve their very highest growth potential in all areas. GOD richly bless and increase you. Thank you.

Warm Regards,
Geraldine Gathoni Muraya.

Sometimes one just drive too fast to see how things unfold. Thus feel all the bumps in the road and missing the beautiful things in life. I think one should slow down after a bump and look around and see how far one has reached. So instead of beating oneself after the bruise enjoy awhile refocus and continue the trip.

20 years of looking upon shadows of my mistakes and bang, your clips just makes me look forward and realize how far I have gone. Just can't seem to accept it easily, just like a large pill to swallow, to learn to trust myself and that I could do much much better. Sharon you just laid out for me the key ingredient on how to prepare myself to reach my goals.

If you have confidence in the value you provide...that says it all. I look for power boosters daily, that is a good one.

What perfect timing. Thank you for the wonderful reminder. I was getting away from the items we had just learned about like the breathing. This is great.
Thank you, thank you and thank you. (-;

Interesting read, I just asked the other people in my department what type they are and they both said Action -> Motivated, while I am Motivated -> Action. They both said that their encouragement comes from the task itself and that if the task starts to go badly they sometimes give up. My motivation, coming from within is not disrupted by the proverbial speedbumps that can occur and I will continue to work at something until it is finished. So I think both types have their advantages and disadvantages.

On the whole I think as a team we work well by having some members of each type.
