About the Presenter/Coach

1. Bold Goal:

Start the program declaring a specific and inspiring ‘Bold Goal’ that adds greater value to the organization – then achieve it by the end of the program.  Rise above ‘day to day’ responsibilities with an initiative that showcases strategic and leadership capabilities and makes the participant visible by a broader group of stakeholders.  The Bold Goal re-energizes passion and positions you for future opportunities. It will help you address bias.

2.Horizon Point

Figure out who you need to be in order to create the results you want in your life.  Get skills to show up as that person

3. Three months of in-depth skill training to support achieving your Bold Goal

Month 1: Influence for Impact: Communicate Powerfully to Get Buy In

Get approval and buy-in for your ideas.  Get a Yes where you used to get a “no”.  Be that person who sounds eloquent and every one listens to whenever they open their mouth. Inspire others to action. Start seeing others across the organization invite you to a seat at the table.

  • Get a “Yes” when you Ask (for responsibility, resources, salary, promotion, etc)
  • Communicate concisely so people immediately ‘get’ your ideas
  • Articulate powerfully (even when thinking on your feet)
  • Enroll others so you are seen as the ‘Go To’ expert
  • Read the needs of colleagues so you can overcome their objections
  • Become a visible and Respected Thought Leader or Change Agent

Month 2  Show Confidence When it Counts: Play a Bigger Game

Shift your Mindset:  Stop playing small and identify how to make your biggest contribution to the organization. Become free of self doubt, second guessing, and fear of others’ judgments so you have confidence to take bold action and ask for next level opportunities.

  • Identify who you want to be at your Horizon Point and know how to “show up as her” everyday.
  • Be strong without ‘coming on too strong’ (be perceived as approachable)
  • Be confident communicating with senior leaders, large groups, opposing views
  • Lift up from perfectionism to be a Strategic Leader
  • Fearlessly offer bold ideas
  • Trust yourself to make decisions without angst

Month 3:  Strategically Position Yourself for Next Level Opportunities

Identify opportunities to step out of your day to day role and provide an even bigger contribution to the business.  Grow a network of people who support your next level advancement.

  • Find and ask for a sponsor
  • Network to get known internally/externally by people who will help your career
  • Articulate your strengths and align them with organizational needs

4. Monthly small group coaching and accountability call

Sharon Melnick, PhD will coach you to achieve your Bold Goal, adjust your ‘messaging’ to increase Influence, and catalyze your progress toward next level opportunities. The small group coaching experience is enhanced with peer mentoring by other high achieving emerging leaders.  You will connect with your peers in a private FB group.

5. Monthly “office hours” call-in

Consult with Dr. Melnick with a time sensitive issue

6. Weekly reminders –

You will participate in a 15 minute call Monday am EST to set an intention for the week and celebrate accomplishments from the week before. You will receive a brief weekly email reminding you to stay focused on goal achievement.
